Our Commitment
Formation Ads is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access to all users.
This statement applies to the Formation Ads web application at formationads.com. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and to meet the requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (29 U.S.C. § 794d), as amended.
Conformance Status
Formation Ads is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to resolve all identified gaps.
Accessibility Features
The Formation Ads platform includes the following accessibility features:
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard. Focus indicators are visible on all focusable elements.
- Screen reader support: Semantic HTML elements, ARIA attributes, and live regions are used throughout the application to ensure screen reader compatibility.
- Skip-to-content link: A skip navigation link is provided on every page to bypass repetitive navigation.
- Heading hierarchy: Proper heading levels (h1 through h3) are maintained without skipping levels, providing a logical document structure.
- ARIA attributes: Interactive elements include appropriate ARIA labels, roles, and states to convey their purpose and behavior.
- Form error announcements: Form validation errors are announced to assistive technology via ARIA live regions.
- Status indicators: Status badges and indicators use text labels in addition to color to ensure information is not conveyed by color alone.
- Focus management: Focus is managed appropriately on route transitions and when modals or dialogs are opened or closed.
Testing Methodology
We test the accessibility of Formation Ads using a combination of automated and manual methods:
- Automated testing: We use axe-core integrated into our end-to-end test suite (Playwright) to automatically scan pages for WCAG violations on every release.
- Manual review: We perform manual keyboard and screen reader testing for complex interactive components including forms, modals, and data tables.
- Continuous integration: Accessibility checks run as part of our CI/CD pipeline to prevent regressions.
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some areas of the application may have accessibility limitations:
- Dark theme contrast: The primary color in dark mode may not meet WCAG AA contrast ratio requirements in all contexts. We are tracking this for a future design update.
- Third-party content: Some embedded content from third-party services (e.g., Stripe payment forms) may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA. We work with these providers to advocate for accessibility improvements.
- Data visualizations: Charts in the reporting dashboard include text labels and tooltips, but may present challenges for screen reader users navigating complex data sets.
